The advantages of adopting diaphragm pump for large-flow flue gas and dust sampling

1. Portable size

Due to the influence of flue gas sampling accuracy, the on-site flow velocity of pipelines, solid content test indicators, etc., flue gas sampling requires a large flow rate to collect the gas to be tested.

Therefore, in order to ensure sufficient flow rate, if a sliding vane pump is used, the volume will generally be relatively large, and only Fixed at a certain place in the pipeline for use, if a diaphragm pump is used, the volume will be much smaller. Taking the YYP370 air pump as an example, the size is only 182×77×138mm, which is suitable for embedding on a portable flue gas sampling device.

2. Power consumption and noise

Diaphragm pumps mostly use a DC24V power supply, and sliding vane pumps are generally powered by AC220V. From the power consumption perspective, the power consumption of diaphragm pumps is much lower than that of sliding vane pumps. Low power consumption means they can be powered by lithium batteries, realizing mobile Portable sampling greatly increases the range of use. The flow rate required by the flue gas sampling industry is extremely high, and a flow rate in the range of 0-50L/min may be involved.

Therefore, the motor must run at high speed to meet the flow rate requirements. Both types of pumps will generate relatively large noise. Compared with Next, the diaphragm pump is less noisy than the sliding vane pump, and noise reduction can also be achieved by installing sound-absorbing cotton and shock-absorbing feet.

3. Load flow and sampling accuracy

In flue gas sampling, the fluid flow rate in the sampling pipeline is very fast, so the sampling pump needs to be able to work stably under a certain load.

At the same time, the distribution of flue gas and dust in the pipeline is not uniform in theory in practice, and it is close to the edge of the pipe wall. The airflow velocity is fast, but the flow velocity is slow in the middle of the pipe, and eddy currents will occur with the change of the flue diameter, so the sampling pump needs to have a high enough precision to ensure that the collected gas samples are accurate enough.

Also, take the YYP370 air pump as an example, the peak flow rate is 42L/min, and the average flow rate is 26.5L/min. When sampling on site, due to the fast flow rate in the flue gas pipeline, about 5m/s-10m/s, a damping of about 5kPa-10kPa will be generated at the suction end of the pump, and the actual flow rate will be attenuated.

From the flow rate, It can be seen from the graph that even if the load at the suction end fluctuates, the air pump flow rate can still be maintained above 22L/min, and the airflow rate is stable with an accuracy of ±1%.
